CDC Faculty & Staff

 

LaJuana Belrose

 Mrs. Belrose has been employed at First Baptist Christian School Child Development Center since 1998.  She began her teaching career as a substitute in all departments and found the Infants classroom to be her very favorite.

 

Mrs. Belrose says, “I enjoy watching the children grow as they progress to their next classrooms.”  Mrs. Belrose and her husband, Chuck, have been members of Marble Falls First Baptist Church since 1995.

 

Elizabeth Kennedy

 In 1999, Ms. Kennedy became a member of the First Baptist Christian School staff.  She began her child care career as a floater for the first 6 years at FBCS.  “I loved being a floater because I got to visit all of the classrooms and get to know so many children,” said Ms. Kennedy. 

 

She now cares for our precious infants. “I really love being a baby room teacher.  They bring a smile to my face every time I see them.”


Heidi Ray

Ms. Ray has been a staff member at First Baptist Christian School since 2009.  She has had 10 year prior experience in early childhood development.  Ms. Ray will now serve as our toddler teacher, working with children ages 14 to 24 months.

 

Ms. Ray says, “I firmly believe a young child’s education includes academic, physical, social,
emotional as well as spiritual training.  I feel God has given me the gift of teaching, and I feel very blessed to be a part of the FBCS staff.”


Ms. Ray is currently attending Central Texas College in Marble Falls Texas.



Ann Parmeter

Mrs. Parmeter joined First BaptistChristian School in August 2009 as a teacher’s aide for the 2 Year Old Preschool Program, but in 2010 moved to the toddler classroom. She will now serve as lead teacher in our 2 Year Old Pre-K class.

 

“I am excited about my current position at FBCS.  I love to see the faces of the children when they
have mastered something new.”

 

Mrs. Parmeter is currently attending Central Texas college in Killeen, Texas.

 

Carmen Castleberry

Mrs. Carmen Castleberry grew up and attended school in Andrews, Texas.  She lives on a ranch where she and her family raise zebras, kangaroos and other exotics. Mrs. Castleberry has been married to her husband, Bryan, for 24 years. They have three children Amy Beth, Taylor and Connor. Their two girls are in college, one at Lubbock Christian University and the other at Abilene Christian University. Their son is 11 and in the 5th grade. They also have four dogs, cats and an African grey parrot.

 

Mrs. Castleberry graduated from LeTourneau University in August 2010 and she completed her student teaching with the Burnet CISD.   Up until now, she has been a stay-at-home mom.  Teaching children has been her dream since she was a little girl.

 

When she has spare time, she reads and reads.  Her favorite kid movie is “The Lion King” because of all the animals. And most of all….Mrs. Castleberry loves chocolate!!!



Leah Kelso

Ms. Kelso has been involved in the development of children for the past 10 years.  She began as a
teacher at First Baptist Christian School in August 2009 in the Pre-K department.  Ms. Kelso will now serve as lead teacher in our Pre-K 3 department.

 

Over the years, she tried other types of occupations but would always be drawn back to working with children.  “I am very blessed that First Baptist Christian School has welcomed me to their family.  I am so excited to be here, and I feel like this is where God is calling me to be,” says Ms. Kelso.

 

Gerri Hoover, Aide

Ms. Gerri Hoover joined the staff at First Baptist Christian School in 2010, as a substitute in our Child Development Center.  She then became a teacher’s aide in our 2 Year Old Pre-k department in January 2011.  Ms. Gerri will now serve as the teacher’s aide in our 3 Year Old Pre-K department.

 

“I worked at a church daycare in Cedar Park for 6 years, while my girls attended Christian school
there.  I love working with children and you might say children are my life since I have spent a lifetime raising them."



Cindy Koopmans

Mrs. Koopmans attended Mary Hardin Baylor University in Belton, Texas and Concordia University in Austin, Texas.  She received her Director’s Certification in 1990 in DeWitt County.  Mrs. Koopmans has served as Assistant Director and Director of Our Savior Lutheran School in Austin, Texas and Assistant Director of Redeemer Lutheran School also in Austin, Texas.  Her teaching career began in college as she began to work in the Kindergarten program at Mary Hardin Baylor University and has continued ever since.  She began her employment at   First Baptist Christian School in 2002 as a floater, then served as the Pre-K teacher for several years before being promoted to CDC director in 2009. Cindy returned the classroom in January 2011 and continues to serve in a leadership position as CDC Assistant.

 

Mrs. Koopmans says, “I believe that God called me to FBCS and has continued to grow me spiritually as well as intellectually, and to further His Kingdom by planting seeds of love for Jesus Christ in the hearts of children.”





Elaine Henry

Ms. Elaine Henry has been a member of the FBCS staff since 2002.  She has worked with the After-School and Summer programs since her employment. 

 

"It has been my pleasure serving your children and my Lord and Savior in this school.  I feel very blessed to work with such wonderful children and staff," says Ms. Henry.


Nita Burton

Mrs. Burton became a staff member of First Baptist Christian School in February 2010.  She began her career as a teacher’s aide at an accelerated Christian academy. 

 

Mrs. Burton says, “I feel blessed to be able to work at FBCS with all of the children and the staff.”
